In theory, it was the ideal way to keep me from getting attached. My life plans left no room for distractions—not if I was going to break out of my culture’s machismo and prove to my family that I could make it on my own. And the 6’4” Texan rocking boots and a cowboy hat? He was exactly the type of distraction I was avoiding. So when the hot Wrangler-wearing man strolled up to me at a bar with a desperate plea to pretend to be his date, the rules were necessary…and completely useless. How was I supposed to know my fake date was the star hockey player for the very team I was just hired as the strength and conditioning coach for?

Pro tip: If your goal is to stay single so you can focus on not repeating last season’s disaster, maybe don’t ask a dark-haired beauty with looks that could kill to pretend to be your date. Especially not when her laugh makes you feel alive for the first time in years. Because that charade may last longer than you’d anticipated…and trying to keep things fake? Feels like a damn High Stick to The Heart
To survive in the Los Muertos Cartel, you have to stay useful, especially when you're a woman. So I made sure I couldn't be replaced. Now my name is whispered about in the shadows— La Brujita de Los Muertos. Too bad I forgot that lies and deceit are the lifeblood of this toxic paradise.
I should have seen the betrayal coming.
My hands were always destined to be drenched in the blood of guilty men.
Sometimes it takes someone willing to walk in the dark to allow others to live in the light. She is a beautiful savage. All the things I am not supposed to have and maybe never will.
Meeting her changed all of my plans, altered the very fabric of my future.
This book revolves around a cartel and due to the nature of that, this story is on the darker side of romance. And it is for those 18+ as it contains explicit sex/language, violence, and death.
Trigger warnings: graphic torture/death, sex trafficking (this does not occur to the main characters but it is a subject addressed in this book more than once. No graphic details are given) mentions of sexual assault (does not occur to the main FMC or MMC. No details are given), manipulation, and abuse.
Bastard, daughter of a traitor.
To the Italian Don of New York, I’m nothing more than a tool to be wielded. My obedience was the price I had to pay for the sins of my father. But Dominick Romano should have worked on gaining my loyalty because the chains he shackled me with have been undone.
The Four Families have always run New York.
Italian Mafia, Irish Mob, Russian Bratva, and the Jirocho Yakuza Clan.
An alliance cloaked in proclamations of peace while they hold knives to one another’s backs. But a new player has emerged, The Syndicate. Three men born of the same blood as those whose kingdoms they’ve come to conquer.
They think they can use me the same way my uncle did, but they’re in for a rude awakening when they realize I’m not a damsel in distress. There’s been a blade in my hand this whole time, and I’ve been waiting to land the blow that starts the bloodbath.
I will not bow at their feet.
But soon, all of New York, and those who think they can rule it, will kneel at mine.
These three included...
Trigger warnings: MMC’s are mean to the FMC, graphic torture/death, mentions of human trafficking (this does not occur to the main characters but it is a subject addressed in this book more than once. Not on page), mentions of childhood abuse (Not sexual and Not on page),assault , manipulation, misogyny and abuse.
Running away and becoming someone new would be far easier if the demons of my past didn’t insist on showing up at my doorstep. Turns out that leaving an evil Russian Bratva leader at the altar after helping stage his assassination only pissed him off and made me a target.
I tried blending, but hiding in the shadows under a fake alias is no longer enough.
It should have been easy to keep my distance from the MC member burdened with protecting me. He is just as averse to commitment as I am, yet he’s been the only person ever to see me, even through all the smoke and mirrors I keep between us.
Trigger warnings: graphic torture/death, sex trafficking (this does not occur to the main characters but it is a subject addressed in this book more than once. No graphic details are given) grief of family members, kidnapping, manipulation, and abuse.
She’s shrouded in secrets, and there’s nothing I want more than to peel back every layer and discover what’s at her core. The glimpses she gives me have me hooked in a way I’ve never experienced before. I’ve always been:
No commitments.
No girlfriends—hell, I’ve never had a female friend.
Yet here I am, wanting to protect her, to be the weapon she wields against her enemies. Because if there’s one thing I have learned during our time together, it’s that the ache in my chest only stops when I am with her.
She’s mine now.
What do you get when you put a woman who isn’t afraid to use her brain and get her hands dirty and a biker who is turned on every time she’s blood thirsty? Straight fire.
This book is EVERYTHING I ever wanted. Hot bikers, strong FMC, strong female friendships, action, spicy spice, plot twists and a porn stache. I laughed, gasped, screamed in horror and kicked my feet at how swoon worthy Gunner is. I can’t wait to continue reading the series.
"This book is everything!"
Obsessed to say the least. I’m a sucker for a good MC book, but this one takes it to another level. We’ve got a badass Latin goddess, Ryan, and then we’ve got the tough cinnamon roll simp, Gunner. Their chemistry was IMMEDIATELY, & I was here. 👏🏼 for. 👏🏼 it. 👏🏼🔥 I did immersive reading where I listened to the audiobook while reading along on my Kindle, & that takes the reading experience up a notch. The narrators did amazing including all the accents, banter, & spice. Loved learning about the Mexican culture & especially the side characters (can’t wait for their stories!) 😍 Will definitely continue with the rest of the series with Syndicate of Sins next! 🙌🏼❤️🔥🖤💙💚
"Man, I have been sleeping on this author & this series!
My favorite of the series yet! This book had everything I could’ve asked for. A badass FMC who can handle her own like no other, amazing plot, and incredible smut. I couldn’t put this book down for the life of me, and it’ll definitely have you hooked like no other!
"Couldn’t put this book down!"
Marie is one of the few people who can write a book that has me laughing my a$$ off, tearing up, and hot and bothered within a few hundred pages. I think it’s the Aquarius in us!
Dax and Nikki were everything a slow burn book should be. Give me all the flirty, dirty AF banter. I think my favorite parts of this book were Dex’s romantic musings and declarations of love and the crews from book one and two being so heavily involved.
I absolutely loved this read, which was no surprise. And I’m secret hoping we get a book for Andrei 🖤🖤
"What a Slow Burn should be!
so I did the next best thing and wrote it in my books (okay, they don’t stab in my hockey books, but you bet your ass they are petty).
Writing a book was only supposed to be a bucket list thing to check off; now, here we are. I wrote my first book, Skeletons of Society, after struggling to find books in the mafia/romantic suspense genre with strong, morally grey women.
Stabbing is frowned upon in real life...
because it’s one of the most praised aspects of my writing. My author brand centers around writing unapologetic feminine rage with FMCs as badass as the boys who fall for them. And now I am trying my hand in the sports romance world!
I currently live in Tennessee and try to survive the cycle of working, writing, mom-ing, and consuming questionable amounts of caffeine.
